The Night Guards

This project started with me reading quite a few of Terry Pratchett’s books, specifically The Night Guard series. It tells about a group of night guards and the whole thing is a satire on how bad the police system can be in a country.
All of Pratchett’s characters have unique features, so I thought that it would be interesting to create them. To highlight those features, I decided to make the models look like collectible figures.
As my idea involved quite a bit of 2D art, I asked my friend, an amazing 2D artist, to collaborate with me. She made concept art, modelling sheets and painted faces for the characters. I did modelling, posing, UV unwrapping and texturing(except faces).

Some modelling progress. I started by blocking out the torso and working from it.

The base bodies I ended up making. The top one is for Carrot, Sam and Nobby and the bottom one is for Fred.

Finished models. Most of the clothes are made by copying parts of the bodies and changing it.
